Arcade Fire back in September? Wilco gets lucky

You can hear Wilco covering Daft Punk right now. In July you’ll be able to hear Jay-Z rapping about Tom Ford and Nirvana. And in September you might even be able to hear some new Arcade Fire.

Arcade Fire back in September?

“Sources close” to Arcade Fire claim that the band will be releasing new music on September 9, says Revolt TV. The new material, which LCD Soundsystem leader James Murphy has “described as “really great””:, will be part of the follow-up to 2010’s The Suburbs.

Murphy has been helping produce the record and has explained that his involvement in the record has ranged from making suggestions to playing instruments and helping with the arrangements. “They are so good they could produce themselves, so my role in the band depends on the song,” he told Daily Star. “We feel like part of each other’s bands because we toured a lot together over the years.”

Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail tracklist

Jay-Z has revealed the tracklist for his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, via an elaborate scavenger hunt in Brooklyn. His publicist, Jana Fleishman, tweeted hints leading obsessive fans to a location where she was waiting with books containing the song titles.

The album will feature 15 tracks including ‘Picasso Baby’, ‘Tom Ford’, and the spell-check nightmare ‘FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt’. The track ‘Open Letter’, which was released in April, will also be included on the record. But which track will be the one featuring a quotation from Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Sprit’? Magna Carta Holy Grail will be released on July 4.
