Watch LCD Soundsystem cover Bowie and Guns N’ Roses at Coachella
Coachella’s day one headliner was the re-united LCD Soundsystem, with an unusually non-talkative James Murphy leading the group. Late in the set he explained the lack of banter, saying that they wanted to cram as many songs into their set as possible. They succeeded, squeezing 15 songs into their timeslot including all the expected classics like ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House’ and ‘Losing My Edge’ as well as a couple of surprises.
The first was a version of ‘New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down’ that segued into ‘November Rain’ by Guns N’ Roses, who are the day two headliners. The second was a full cover of ‘Heroes’, performed in tribute to David Bowie. You can watch footage of both below, and tune in to the livestream today for more highlights, including Guns N’ Roses’ own headlining set.
